Murder in Kingston

KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston are investigating a homicide that occurred early Saturday morning.

Police were called to a residence 52 St. James Street around 5 a.m. for a report of a man shot.

The victim was transported to the HealthAlliance Hospital emergency room where he died from his injuries.

The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Kingston Police are investigating with assistance from State Police, the Ulster County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s Offices, and Town of Ulster Police.

It appears the shooting was not a random act and the victim may have been in some sort of dispute with one or more people, police said.

There have been a rash of shootings in recent day in Kingston in which people have been wounded.
