Police make arrest in Poughkeepsie murder

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police have made an arrest in connection with the stabbing death of a man in the area of Pershing Avenue Park in the City of Poughkeepsie at mid-morning on July 7.

Poughkeepsie resident Edward Crowell, 29, died while undergoing surgery after being stabbed.

During the overnight hours of July 9 – 10 information was developed that the suspect was a patient in MidHudson Regional Hospital. Lloyd Pinckney, 39, of Poughkeepsie was arrested during the early morning hours of July 10 and charged with murder on an arrest warrant.

He is under police guard until his release from the hospital when he will be arraigned.
