ORANGE COUNTY – Beginning on July 13, local attorney, mom, author, and candidate for Orange County Family Court Judge Maria Patrizio will host an informational series about Family Court and the challenges that families in crisis face. The series, “Mondays With Maria,” will take place on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. via Facebook Live.
Mondays with Maria will be a four-part series and will cover the following topics:
7/13- “Meet Maria/ Getting to Know Family Court ”
– Maria will introduce herself and talk about her background and career. She will also discuss the basics of Family Court, what Family Court does, who goes there, and why it matters. 7/20- “Family Structures”
– Every family is unique and every family faces different challenges. Maria will discuss various parenting time arrangements and strategies for effective co-parenting. 7/27- “Kids in Crisis”
– Children may become involved in a Family Court case because they are the subject of custody, neglect, juvenile delinquency, or person in need of supervision case. Maria will discuss the ways in which Family Court helps children, and the resources available for children. 8/3- “Successfully Navigating Family Court”
Family Court can be stressful and emotional, according to the judicial candidate. Maria will discuss the steps of a Family Court case, and what litigants can expect when they go to Family Court. Patrizio will provide tips for making the Family Court experience less stressful and more productive for all involved.
“In my twenty years as an attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, I have seen every type of case that could make its way through Family Court. As a candidate for Family Court judge, it is my pleasure to provide information to people who want to know more about Family Court,” Maria said.
As a candidate, Patrizio is prohibited from discussing political issues or taking a stance on specific legal issues that may be presented to her in court. The Patrizio campaign reached out to the Judicial Campaign Ethics Commission and was informed that an informational series like “Mondays With Maria” is in compliance with judicial campaign rules.
