BEACON – For the second weekend, the City of Beacon has allowed outside dining in the downtown area.

Some parking spots were set aside for the fresh air socialization, said Mayor Lee Kyriacou.

“We have isolated what we call ‘parklets,’ basically small spaces where directly adjacent to restaurants where you can set up tables outside so it could be in the parking directly in front. It could be on the sidewalk where the sidewalk is really big. It could be on the side streets,” he said.

Restaurants may now also offer indoor dining providing occupancy is 50 percent of what it used to be and customers and staff practice COVID-19 precautions including face coverings and hand washing.
