SPRING VALLEY – A 30-year-old Spring Valley man was remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail on a charge of attempted rape.
Village Police began an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct on June 11. The case was referred to the detective bureau.
It was alleged that Valery Lazard tried to force himself on a 13-year-old girl, but she was able to fight him off and escape.
Lazard was charged with attempted rape and criminal sexual act, both felonies.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
