MID-HUDSON – Most everyone who is out and about in the Mid-Hudson is wearing a mask or face covering of one sort or another, but not everyone is wearing one properly.
Those facial covering are meant to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
But, Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman said there is a right way and a wrong way to wear them.
“The goal is to really contain all secretions so it is absolutely imperative that there is wearing a face mask or face covering specially covering your face and mouth in order to make sure that any type of secretions are contained,” she said.
Dr. Gelman reminds everyone that the virus is still here and practicing social distancing, washing hands often with soap and water and wearing those face coverings will help control the spread.
