Saugerties man charged with choking his sister

SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties man was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail after he allegedly choked his sister impairing her ability to breathe.

Saugerties Police were called to the area of 13 Village Drive at 11:42 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 for a report of a domestic dispute.

Investigation determined that Michael Sharrow, 40, allegedly choked the victim, impairing her ability to breathe.

He was charged with the felony of aggravated family offense and the misdemeanor of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.
