CATSKILL – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has developed a partnership with several community-based agencies to create the Impacted Citizen’s Program.
That effort now has a sheriff’s deputy following up on all overdoses in the county within 24 to 48 hours and offering to be a conduit to support services including mental health, rehabilitation, or counseling for both the individual who overdosed and affected family and friends.
Other components of the program include training for law enforcement and other first responders on the complexities of the drug issue and how best to deal with them.
