Orange County seeks proposals for Camp LaGuardia, Grand Street properties

GOSHEN – Orange County is seeking proposals for development of the former Camp LaGuardia property in Chester and Blooming Grove and three adjacent buildings on Grand Street in the City of Newburgh located near SUNY Orange.

The county bought the Camp LaGuardia, a former shelter for homeless New York City men in 2007. In December 2013, the county purchased the Grand Street properties with the goal of expanding services at the college campus.

County Executive Steven Neuhaus said in recent months there has been interest in the properties for commercial purposes.

“These RFPs will allow the county legislature and I to see who is real and what type of proposals will work best for the communities they reside in,” he said.

The County Legislature will select the developers who will buy some or all of the properties.  The Request for Proposals (RFP) for each property can be found at:
