Balmville murder remains unsolved

BALMVILLE – It has been 16 years since hair stylist Yvonne Torch was found murdered in her Route 9W, Town of Newburgh shop.

A customer entering the business at mid-morning on June 9, 2004 found the 32-year-old woman dead inside. She had been stabbed multiple times.

Police have followed hundreds of leads from as close as Newburgh and New Milford, Connecticut to Florida with no success to report.
