Buchanan man charged with making graffiti on private property in Beacon

BEACON – A 25-year-old Buchanan man has been arrested by Beacon City Police on charges that he entered a privately owned fenced in building and tagged it with graffiti.

Beacon Police arrested Daniel Vines-Mevic after they were called to the area of Madam Brett Park at 550 South Avenue around 8 a.m. on Monday, June 1.

Officers were informed that a man was trespassing in the vacant building at 555 South Avenue, which is owned by Scenic Beacon Development.

The property is fenced off along with ‘no trespassing’ signs posted.

An investigation revealed that Vines-Mevic was in possession of several spray paint cans and had just tagged the building.

He was charged with criminal mischief, making graffiti, possession of graffiti instruments, criminal trespass, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Vines-Mevic was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Beacon City Court.
