WALDEN – Noting the coronavirus is particularly dangerous to many veterans 60 and older, Hudson Valley Honor Flight has postponed its two flights and annual Lunch of Honor this fall.

Hudson Valley Honor Flight is a local nonprofit based in Walden that honors Hudson Valley veterans for their sacrifices. At no cost to the vets, the organization brings them to Washington, DC to visit their respective military branches’ war memorials.

The group is also the local hub of the National Honor Flight Network, which has more than 100 independent nonprofit hubs nationwide.

“The world has been impacted by COVID-19 and we are no different,” said Honor Flight Chairman Frank Kimler. “In a time like this, we all must secure basic health and safety.”
