Philmont man arrested for robbing Lyft driver

PHILMONT – A 20-year-old Philmont man has been charged with robbery and grand larceny, both as felonies for allegedly robbing a Lyft driver of $1,700 in cash.

Deven Hotaling, 20, was arrested on May 21 in connection with the February 27 robbery in which he is alleged to have forcibly robbed the driver.

Hotaling was located on March 3, transported to the Livingston barracks of the State Police and complained of immediate health issues. He was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson for evaluation but left the state immediately after being discharged from the hospital.

He was later located walking on Main Street in Philmont on May 21 and arrested.

Hotaling was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
