KINGSTON – A man jumped to his death from the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge Wednesday morning, State Police said.

At about 7:19 a.m., troopers responded to an Ulster County 911 call to the bridge for a report of a man who had jumped, State Police Troop F spokesman Trooper Steven Nevel said.

The victim was located by the East Kingston Fire Department floating in the river below the bridge.

He was brought to the shore where he was pronounced dead by a Mobile Life Support paramedic.

State Police were assisted by the Glasco and East Kingston fire departments, and the State Police Underwater Recovery Team.

The investigation is continuing.

This was the second suicide from a Mid-Hudson bridge this week. The first, a woman, jumped off the Bear Mountain Bridge.
