BUFFALO – Governor Cuomo Monday encouraged major sports teams to plan to re-open without fans. He said the games could be televised and whether teams re-open in this fashion would be a factor of economics without fans in the stadiums.

Cuomo also said he took a COVID-19 test on Sunday and it came back negative. He urged anyone who has a concern to have a test taken.

While in Buffalo, the governor said the Western region of New York would begin phase one of reopening tomorrow (Tuesday).

He also announced he has recruited the expertise of Dr. Samir Bhatt from Imperial College in London to provide statistical analysis of the virus and New York’s efforts to control its spread. He praised the governor for leading the effort.
