TROY – The Pomeroy Fund for New York State History has awarded grants of between $1,000 and $2,000 to history-related organizations across the state that have been forced to close in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Five of those grants have been provided to Hudson Valley groups including Hastings Historical Society, Historic Red Hook, Historical Society of Woodstock, Peekskill Museum, and Wappingers Historical Society.
The grants are to be used to support the purchase of computer hardware or software, gain internet access or expand bandwidth, pay for utilities, and secure facilities and collections.
Qualifying organizations have operating budgets of $100,000 or less.
The William G. Pomeroy Foundation is a private, grant-making foundation established in 2005. It is committed to supporting the celebration and preservation of community history; and to raising awareness, supporting research and improving the quality of care for patients and their families who are facing a blood cancer diagnosis.
The history-related grants are a partnership between the William G. Pomeroy Foundation and the Museum Association of New York.
