GOSHEN – Half of the 10 regions in the state have been approved for phase-one re-opening of the economy. The Hudson Valley is not one of them.

Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus said on Friday that he believes this region may be given the go-ahead shortly.

“We anticipate that we can see that happening next week in Orange County. As region we are judged; some areas are doing better than others. Some are doing worse,” he said.

For the purpose of the COVID-19 crisis, the Hudson Valley region is defined by the state as the counties of Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, Sullivan, Dutchess and Ulster.
