MIDDLETOWN – Middletown Mayor Joseph DeStefano has announced that the city will conduct its annual spring bulk cleanup at city residences beginning June 15. The schedule for each Ward is below.

The city postponed the bulk cleanup originally scheduled in early spring due to the COVID-19 outbreak. DeStefano stated, “Middletown residents have been following the social- distancing rules established by Governor Cuomo. This virus directly affected some of our staff and we canceled the early spring service. We are now in a position where we can safely provide this service to our residents while protecting our employees.”

It is a violation of the city emergency declaration for any person to rummage through the bulk items placed curbside. “This annual ritual by some is now canceled. This type of activity can jeopardize the safety of our employees,” DeStefano said.

DeStefano thanked the dedicated employees of the Department of Public Works for their hard work and commitment to the residents throughout this “horrible period in our nation.”

Schedule:

  1. Monday, June 15, 2020, for City 4th Ward.
  2.  Monday, June 22, 2020, for City 3th Ward.
  3.  Monday, June 29, 2020, for City 2nd Ward.
  4.  Monday, July 6, 2020, for the 1St Ward.
