RHINEBECK – As of Friday, May 1, all residents and non-residents who use the transfer station for waste and recyclables are required to have a permit sticker that must be placed on a vehicle window on the driver’s side, according to town supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia.

Those who have not purchased a permit yet can still use the facility but will be charged a $10 fee in addition to the cost of depositing waste and/or recyclables at the transfer station.
Permits can be purchased from the Town Clerk by sending a check to the Town of Rhinebeck, Town Clerk, 80 East Market Street, Rhinebeck NY, 12572. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the mailing of the permit.   The town also requires that permit purchasers include a name and telephone number in the event the clerk has questions.
Individuals with questions can call Town Clerk, Jon Gautier, or Deputy Clerk Joan Winne at 845-886-3409. As a result of limited office hours, callers are asked to leave a message that includes the caller’s contact information and an employee will return the call.
The new permit is valid until April 30, 2021.  The permit fees are as follows:
Non-resident $60
Non-resident Senior or Vet $30
Rhinebeck Resident $30
Rhinebeck Senior or Veteran $20
