COVID-19 multi-system hyper inflammatory response syndrome in children

MID-HUDSON – Recently, it has been reported in New York, that Coronavirus is possibly linked with a Multi-system Hyper Inflammatory Response Syndrome disease in children.

Seek care immediately if your child has:

  • a prolonged fever lasting more than 5 days
  • difficulty feeding or is too sick to drink fluids
  • severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, or vomiting
  • change in skin color that becomes pale, patchy or blue
  • trouble breathing or is breathing very rapidly
  • racing heart or chest pain
  • decreased amount or frequency of urine
  • lethargy, irritability or confusion

If your child has these symptoms of COVID-19 Multi-system Hyper Inflammatory Response Syndrome, call your doctor for instructions or in an emergency call 911.
