CORTLANDT – A 19-year-old Cortlandt man has been arrested and charged with a felony of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, and the crash resulted in a fatality.

State Police charged Karan Kanojia following an investigation into the death of Luis Rivera, 37, of Peekskill.

On April 30 at about 9 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a pedestrian hit on Route 6 – East Main Street – in the Town of Cortlandt, near Locust Avenue. It is alleged that Kanojia was driving westbound, struck Rivera and left the scene without reporting it.
