Rite AID to operate drive-through COVID test sites

HUDSON VALLEY – Rite Aid Pharmacy will be making available COVID-19 testing sites in the Town of Wallkill and City of Kingston.

In Wallkill, it will be at the pharmacy at 701 Route 211 East in the Town of Wallkill and in Kingston it will be at the store on Flatbush Avenue.

Both stores will operate a COVID-19 testing site beginning on Monday, May 11. The testing will be free of charge and will be by appointment via Rite Aid website with scheduling of appointments beginning on Sunday, April 10.

Testing will be available for anyone 18 and older with or without symptoms and a prescription from a doctor will not be required.

People seeking to be tested will pull up to the prescription drive-up window, be handed a test kit, perform a nasal swab themselves, seal it and return it to the pharmacists through the drawer.

The site will be able to conduct 50 to 100 tests per day the results for which will be reported to the state and Orange County departments of health.
