Middletown Medical expands COVID-19 testing locations

NEWBURGH – As part of their regional efforts in the COVID-19 pandemic. Middletown Medical will be opening another testing site in the Newburgh area bring the total testing sites to five.

The drive-through site located at 21 Hudson Valley Plaza in the Town of Newburgh just a few hundred feet from Middletown Medical’s Urgent Care at the Mid Valley Mall, was the joint efforts of Middletown Medical and the Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio with the support of his Deputy Supervisor Scott Manley and other town board members.  

The first day for testing will be on Wednesday and days will be added based on need.  At this location, they will be able to test for antibodies to determine if someone has already acquired and overcame the virus. They will also be able to do the swab test for the COVID19 virus.

 Each test requires a quick telemedicine visit with a medical provider, then you will receive an appointment. For the test, you can call 845-342-4774, let them know that you would like to be tested at this drive-through location for one of these of the COVID19 test.  

The cost of the visits and testing is covered by insurance or for those who do not have insurance, it is covered under the Cares Act; there are no copays for these visits or the test. 

“We cannot thank Supervisor Piaquadio enough for his forward-thinking and innovativeness in offering this site,” said Dan Depew, chief communication officer for Middletown Medical. “Being it is an open-air site it will allow for a seamless flow of patients while limiting exposers that would normally come from having to come into a building to get the test done.”
