NEWBURGH – State Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson (D, Newburgh) is offering help to area residents experiencing delays with the Department of Labor’s Unemployment Insurance Application System. Residents needing help should contact staff by phone or email.

“Since mid-March, constituents have been reaching out to my office seeking help with issues related to their Unemployment Insurance applications. While the State has made tremendous improvements to the system, New Yorkers are still experiencing significant delays finalizing their applications or reaching someone at the Department of Labor. My office can help,” he said.

Since mid-March, 1.2 million New Yorkers have filed for unemployment insurance.

Jacobson’s district offices are closed to visitors, but he and his staff continue to work remotely. Residents of Jacobson’s district, which includes the cities of Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and Beacon and the towns of Newburgh, Marlborough, and Lloyd, can call 845-562-0888 or 845763-7011 or email JacobsonJ@nyassembly.gov for assistance.
