LOCH SHELDRAKE — SUNY Sullivan is virtually premiering two unique theatrical experiences; The Count Partinuple and Thank You/I’m Sorry.

The Count Partinuple, or El Conde Partinuplés, is a new translation of a fantastical play by 17th Spanish playwright, Ana Caro Mallen. The play, a unique twist on the legend of Cupid and Psyche, tells the story of the clever, magically-inclined Empress of Constantinople and her many princely suitors. Translated by the noted playwright and scholar, Harley Erdmann, SUNY Sullivan’s presentation of The Count Partinuple is designed to introduce audiences to a talented playwright whose work has largely languished in obscurity.

Thank You/I’m Sorry is a brand-new docu-drama about a daughter, a mother, and the impacts of neurofibromatosis. Written and performed by Sullivan County Nurse Janna Walter and her daughter, scholar, and advocate Brianna Worden, Thank You/I’m Sorry tells a story of love, pain, and changes. The production is dedicated to raising awareness of neurofibromatosis, a disorder that affects over 2.5 million people worldwide. SUNY Sullivan’s virtual readings of these productions can be viewed on Facebook Live and Youtube Live.
