Ellenville pastor arrested for being federal prisoner who walked away eight years ago

ELLENVILLE – Pastor Danny Rivera of the Inglesia De Dios Church in Ellenville has been arrested for being a federal prisoner who walked away from a prison camp in 2012.

Ellenville Village Police Chief Phillip Mattracion said Tomas Morales Cresente, 45, was arrested by village police and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force while armed with a warrant at an apartment at Emerald Pond Estates on Route 209.

He was taken into custody without incident, transported back to Ellenville Police Headquarters, and then later transported by the US Marshals to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he will be arraigned by a federal judge later today.

Cresente was wanted for walking away from a federal prison camp in 2012 where he was serving 7 ½ years for possession of guns and narcotics.

He changed his name and later relocated to Ellenville where he established himself as a pastor of the Inglesia De Dios Church.
