Blooming Grove Ambulance mourns passing of member

BLOOMING GROVE – Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps (BGVAC) Chief of Operations, Brian Bates has announced the passing of fellow BGVAC member Sal Mancuso from a COVID-19 related illness.

“Sal was a dedicated volunteer member for the past 8 years and also served on the board of directors for the past 3 years and was a past Chairman of the Board of Directors,” said Bates.

Mancuso passed away on Thursday, April 30, after spending more than three weeks in St. Luke’s Hospital battling the illness.  In his passing, he leaves behind a wife Marie, and son, Brandon.

In addition to serving the community with BGVAC, Mancuso was also a well-liked substitute teacher in both the Cornwall and Washingtonville school districts.

Service arrangements have not been announced as of Thursday afternoon.
