NEW WINDSOR – Nighttime road construction is set to begin on the night Monday, April 27, as the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) contractors remove the River Road bridge that crosses over Route 9W.
The demolition work is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. each night and continue through the night until 6 a.m. each morning for approximately two weeks. NYSDOT has issued a warning that “There will be noise associated with this project that will be heard by surrounding residents.”
Route 9W will be closed in both directions each night while the demolition work is taking place. NYSDOT will have detour signs posted in the area. River Road, which is a state road, and the bridge will be closed until approximately August while construction is ongoing.
