Car break-ins lead to police chase

TOWN OF FISHKILL – Fishkill police responded to a report of three individuals breaking into cars on Knoll Court in White Birch Estates late Sunday night.

According to police radio traffic Sunday night, a resident in the neighborhood confronted three youths as they were breaking into the vehicles.  Two of the youths fled in a vehicle registered in Waterbury, Connecticut.  The one suspect was taken into custody while additional officers from the New York State Police, Town of Fishkill, and Village of Fishkill police pursued the fleeing vehicle.

It is alleged that the suspects struck at least one vehicle while fleeing, causing property damage.  Police pursued the vehicle down Route 52 to Route 9 and then east on I-84.  Fishkill police terminated their pursuit at the Lime Kiln Road interchange.

The police are asking residents in that area that possess surveillance cameras to please review the footage for possible evidence.  Residents that have possible footage or have been a victim of a break-in are asked to call either the town police at 845-831-1100 or the Village police at 845-896-9260.
