MONTICELLO – The Sullivan County Partnership for Economic Development is offering low-interest loans to businesses impacted by the coronavirus economic shutdown.

The loans come from a $50,000 fund from the Louis R. Cappelli Foundation, said Partnership President Marc Baez.

“It’s $5,000 per loan and they can put that towards helping payroll, helping toward monthly bills and whatever they need to do,” he said. “The goal here is to try to buy them a month to be able to get into a PPE loan or the idle loans from the SBA or some other form of relief that will hopefully get them through until businesses start opening again.”

Sullivan County Government has appropriated another $50,000 toward the Partnership’s business loan program, Baez said.
