CATSKILL – A traffic stop early on Saturday morning, April 18, resulted in the arrests of two Greene County residents on drug charges.

State Police arrested Anthony Biagioni, 49, of Catskill and Ashley Ether, 32, of Cairo. Biagioni was driving a 1999 Ford Ranger when he was stopped for vehicle and traffic violations.

A computer check determined his driver’s license was suspended.

Further investigation found that he had a crack pipe and while being taken into custody, he fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.

The passenger, Ether, was observed stuffing items into her purse. She was ordered out of the truck and hypodermic needles, a small black scale, and her purse fell to the ground.

A search of the purse yielded crack cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, and a glass smoking device. A search of Ether herself revealed cocaine and heroin.

Both were charged with felony and misdemeanor drug possession, obstructing governmental administration and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Biagioni was also charged with resisting arrest.

Biagioni was remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail and Ether was released on an appearance ticket.
