SCARSDALE – Henry Miller, former President of the New York State Bar Association and Trustee Emeritus at Pace University died after a battle with the Coronavirus on April 16.

At the time of his passing, Miller was the senior partner at the White Plains law firm of Clark, Gagliardi, and Miller.  The graduate of St. John’s Law School had also previously served as the president of the Westchester County Bar Association and past director of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

The New York State Bar Association issued a statement on Miller’s passing, saying “We are saddened to hear that past president of the New York State Bar Association Henry Miller, like so many New Yorkers, lost his life to the Coronavirus. Henry was a brilliant advocate, a larger than life personality and a giant in the profession. For decades he was one of the state’s preeminent trial lawyers, and as a teacher, he shared those skills with generations of lawyers. He was gentle and kind and patient. He will be truly missed.”

Red Hook Justice Jonah Triebwasser serves as President of the NYS Magistrates Association.  Judge Triebwasser said “Henry Miller was the dean of trial lawyers.  For generations, he taught young lawyers, myself included, the hows and whys of trial practice. He stressed that trials were the search for truth, but were to be conducted with the highest ethical standards. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”

At the time of his passing, Miller was 89-years-old.
