MID-HUDSON – Interstate 84 in Orange County was virtually empty on Saturday except for a few tractor-trailer trucks. People in supermarkets were practicing social distancing and wore masks and gloves.

Some store shelves were full while others, like the paper goods, had limited supplies with signs stating only one item per customer.

Even the store aisles had one-way arrows to minimize contact with other shoppers.

At Sam’s Club stores in the towns of Wallkill and Fishkill, people lined up outside from the entrance to the end of the building and around the corner.

Gas was down to $1.839 per gallon of regular in the Town of Wallkill and there no long lines at the pumps as there were only a few weeks ago.
