WEST POINT – President Trump told reporters on Friday that he will deliver the 2020 graduation address at the US Military Academy at West Point. The commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, however it is unknown if that date will stand given the COVID-19 pandemic and the close proximity of the academy to New York City, ground zero for the virus.

West Point switched over to remote classes several weeks ago and those are expected to continue through the end of the academic year this summer.

The president said he would expect the graduation to practice safe distancing and said it would not look like any other graduation before.

There has been no formal confirmation of the president’s visit from the White House or West Point.
