TOWN OF WALLKILL – Danny Fernandez is a retired senior investigator with the State Police, who has been on a ventilator at Orange Regional Medical Center since the beginning of the month. His former wife, Jassinia Fernandez, a lab technologist at the Town of Wallkill hospital, has issued a call for plasma with COVID-19 anti-bodies.

She is hopeful that there are local recovered COVID-19 patients who could be tested for antibodies.

“We have really sick patients at ORMC and this therapy, the hospital is working really hard. It is a new therapy obviously because COVID-19 is new, so it has to be done on a clinical trial basis. The hospital has been working really hard to get on the trial and we are on the trial. Hopefully, he will be the first patient to receive this plasma,” she said.

Fernandez, of Matamoras, Pennsylvania, who is 54, served for 24 years in Troop F and Troop NYC with the Drug Enforcement Task Force.
