MONTGOMERY – Two Montgomery Police officers are the only town employees to test positive for the coronavirus, Town Supervisor Brian Maher said.
The officers remain out of work and other steps are being taken, said the supervisor.
“We were able to disinfect the police department and police vehicle they were using. At this time, no one else is showing symptoms,” he said. “We are putting a policy in place to ensure that they do not come back to work until they have had a negative test.”
Maher said that goes over and beyond the regulations that are in place right now for first responders, but they felt that it was important at the town to put a policy in place to ensure that they do not come back to work until they have a negative test.
