KINGSTON – Ulster County is offering a helping hand to aid neighboring counties in their response to COVID-19. The county has offered assistance to Dutchess, Columbia and Greene counties and has maintained close partnership with all neighboring counties in coordinating their response, said County Executive Patrick Ryan.

The county has provided hundreds of face shields, surgical gowns and test kits to those areas.

“The virus does not respect our arbitrary county borders, and neither can our response,” Ryan said. “To protect the health and safety of our area, we must aid our neighbors whenever possible.”

Greene County Legislature Chairman Patrick Linger said test kits donated by Ulster County “will be used to protect our most vulnerable populations in nursing homes.”
