Hudson Valley COVID-19 deaths exceed 1,000

HUDSON VALLEY – A total of 1,041 people have died in the Hudson Valley from the coronavirus, according to information from the state and local health departments.

The largest number of deaths is in Westchester County with 596. Of that number, 223 were residents of nursing homes or adult care facilities.

Rockland County has had 209 deaths with 41 in nursing homes or adult care facilities.

There have been 178 deaths in Orange County with 50 being residents of nursing homes or adult care facilities.

Dutchess County has had 34 deaths, nine in nursing homes or adult care facilities.

Putnam County reported 20 deaths with 10 in those facilities.

Ulster County reported 13 deaths with one in adult care or nursing home.

Sullivan County reported nine deaths with one in those facilities.

Columbia County has had nine deaths with seven in a nursing home or adult care facility.

Greene is the only county in the greater Hudson Valley with no reported CORVID-19 deaths.
