College Hill Golf Course in Poughkeepsie

ALBANY – The NYS Department of Economic Development has issued clarifications on what is considered an “essential business” which has resulted in the closing of recreational venues including golf courses and several boat launches.

The new guidelines added essential services including livestock medical services, emergency medical chiropractic services, and prescribed physical therapy.

Landscaping services have been limited to maintenance or pest control applications.  Cosmetic services are temporarily prohibited meaning no new planting of flower beds and other decorative work.

The complete, revised list of “Essential Businesses” can be found at https://esd.ny.gov/guidance-executive-order-2026.
