POUGHKEEPSIE – 250,000 N95 masks were delivered to Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) on Thursday with the assistance of Arnoff Moving & Storage.

The masks were located at a wholesaler’s warehouse on Long Island.  The vendor did not offer delivery and VBMC was in jeopardy of losing the masks to another purchaser.

Mike Arnoff, president of Arnoff Moving & Storage, received a call on Wednesday evening from a board member of VBMC and asked if he had suggestions on how to get the masks from Long Island to Poughkeepsie.  Twelve hours after receiving the call, Arnoff Operations Manager Chris Meehan was in a truck and on his way to the warehouse for the expedited transport.

The masks were delivered to VBMC on Thursday afternoon.

According to Mike Arnoff, “When you get the call to support our local hospital staff you don’t hesitate – you just get it done.”  He quickly added, “Arnoff Moving & Storage, a 96-year-old five-generation family business, headquartered in Poughkeepsie was honored to provide this service under the present pandemic circumstances and help the medical workers on the front line at Vassar Hospital.”
