WHITE PLAINS – The attempted murder charge against Daniel Flores Arteaga of New Rochelle has been upgraded to a charge of murder in connection with the strangulation death of his mother, who died in the hospital.
Police had responded to a residence on Second Street in New Rochelle in the afternoon of March 17 for a report of a son attacking his mother.
Officers found Arteaga at the scene and his mother unconscious on the floor. He was later charged with strangling her.
The victim was placed on life support at an area hospital. On March 26, she was removed from that support and pronounced dead.
