YORKTOWN – A Yorktown man has been arrested on a charge of reckless endangerment after he allegedly spit blood in a police officer’s face and eyes, which created a substantial risk of physical injury.

Yorktown Police were called to a residence at 11:38 p.m. on March 27 for a report of a fight in progress. Officers investigated and it was alleged that one person involved needed medical assistance for an unrelated issue.

Police assisted EMS personnel with transporting the man to New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.

At about 12:40 a.m. on March 28 while at the hospital, it is alleged the 23-year-old man intentionally spit blood in the officer’s face.

On April 2, the man, whose name police did not release, went to Yorktown Police Headquarters where he was arrested, processed, issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.
