MONROE – Part-time Tuxedo Town Police Officer Adam Bruce of Monroe is off the force after he posted an anti-Village of Kiryas Joel comment on Facebook. “Drop a daisy cutter right on KJ!” he wrote. A daisy cutter is a type of bomb.

“It has come to our attention that a part-time police officer with the Town of Tuxedo Police Department has made a public comment on their personal social media account that does not conform to the department rules and regulations,” Chief Arthur Abbott told Mid-Hudson News in a written statement.

As a result of the post, Bruce “has separated” from the department, the chief said.

According to his Facebook page, Bruce also works at SUNY Orange.

“It is the history of the Tuxedo Police Department to operate with the highest level of ethics, morality and integrity. Our officers are committed to ensuring that the public we serve will always be confident in the professionalism and honor of this law enforcement agency and all we serve,” Abbott wrote.

“At this time when we face the horrible effects of the coronavirus, the country must unite, not be divisive,” said Kiryas Joel Public Safety Director Moses Witriol.
