Extension of bill payment deadlines in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – City of Newburgh government understands COVID-19 is creating unprecedented financial hardships for the community and will be extending a number of bill payment deadlines for residents and businesses.

Sanitation payment due date is extended as follows:

  • Payment for bills issued on April 1, 2020 will be extended for 15 days from April 30, 2020 to May 15, 2020.

Water payment due date is extended as follows:

  • Payment for bills issued on April 6, 2020 will be extended for nine days from May 6, 2020 to May 15, 2020.

City Real Property Tax installment payment dates are extended as follows:

  • The second installment payment shall be extended by 45 days from April 6, 2020 to May 21, 2020, without fees, and to add five percent from May 22, 2020, up to and including July 14, 2020.
  • The third installment payment shall be extended by 45 days from June 5, 2020 to July 20, 2020, without fees, and to add five percent from the July 23, 2020, up to and including September 13, 2020.
  • The fourth installment payment shall be extended by 44 days from August 5, 2020 to September 18, 2020, without fees, and to add 5% from the September 19, 2020, up to and including October 24, 2020.

People who have questions about these changes are encouraged to call the City of Newburgh Collector’s Office at 845-569-7330. The office is closed to the public and payments are being processed via phone and mail. The public is encouraged to follow remittance instructions indicated on their bills.
