NEWBURGH – It was about 2 a.m. on Thursday that Newburgh City Police received a Shot Spotter notification of gunshots in the area of 69 South Street.
Responding officers found shell casings in front of an apartment door with bullet holes going into the residence.
Officers checked with the residents who stated they did not see anything and were awakened to the sound of shooting.
No gunshot victims were located.
The investigation is continuing and police ask anyone with information to call them at 845-561-3131.
