Five more COVID-19 deaths in Orange County

GOSHEN – The COVID-19 death toll in the Hudson Valley continues to rise. In Orange County, five more people died on Thursday, bringing the number of victims of the deadly virus to 30.

County Executive Steven Neuhaus said the number of infected people is also increasing.

“We have 2,084 positives, that’s up by 302 from yesterday. We have a total of 30 deaths, so that is up by five from yesterday,” he said. “We have 37 percent available ICU beds and the number of people hospitalized has now jumped up to 274. Of that 274, 150 have tested positive and there are 124 with the COVID-19 symptoms awaiting test results,” he said.

Authorities in Orange County are going to enforce social distancing during the public health ordeal.
