WHITE PLAINS – The Bee-Line Bus System is scaling back service due to a drop in ridership.

Starting Wednesday, April 1, the system will operate on a Saturday schedule six days a week, Monday-Saturday.  Bee-Line will continue to operate Sunday service on Sundays. While a Saturday schedule is being used on weekdays, it is subject to modification as needed.  In order to better serve passengers, the following routes will have extra trips in addition to their regular Saturday schedule: Routes 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 42, 43, & 60.  These extra trips will be in effect on weekdays only, and a regular Saturday schedule remains in effect for all routes on Saturdays.

County Executive George Latimer thanked the bus system “who continue to show up to work every day and keep our bus system operational during this very challenging time.  This is an essential service that our community relies on.  Our riders can count on us to get them where they need to go.”

The schedule change follows the “New York State on PAUSE” order, which directed New Yorkers use of public transportation for only essential travel and limit potential exposure by spacing out at least six feet from other riders.

Bee-Line has previously taken every precaution to protect passengers and drivers, including the implementation of rear-door boarding, and the elimination of payment transactions.
