KINGSTON – A partnership between the SUNY New Paltz, Hudson Valley Additive Manufacturing Center, and Ulster County has resulted in the college’s 3D printers producing 1,000 face shields that have been donated to healthcare facilities and medical personnel at county drive-through mobile testing sites.

Once fully ramped up, the facility has the capacity to produce 500 face shields per day.

“Seeing the looming shortage of PPE, I put out an urgent call for locally sources solutions. I can’t thank SUNY New Paltz enough for answering that call,” said County Executive Patrick Ryan.

The county operates two drive-through COVID testing facilities – at Tech City in the Town of Ulster and in Ellenville.
