Goshen – Three more people have died in Orange County of the coronavirus, bringing the total to date to 12, County Executive Steven Neuhaus said Monday evening.

Even with additional ICU beds in hospitals, they are rapidly filling up, he said.

“On Friday we had 62 available ICU beds in Orange County. Our hospitals have been able to increase that number to 199 today, so we went from 62 to available ICU beds in Orange County to 199 beds in Orange County, of which 14 percent are available,” he said.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has been calling for hospitals to double to number of ICU beds to handle the apex when it reaches each area.
