County launches “Dutchess Responds” to provide relief to residents

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County Government has established “Dutchess Responds,” an online portal through the county website, www.dutchessny.gov/dutchessresponds, with information for residents who want to offer assistance in the fight against the coronavirus.

County Executive Marcus Molinaro said the assistance can come in various forms including monetary donations. “We are asking individuals to come forward to volunteer, to participate in our COVID-19 hotline and other volunteer efforts to deliver food and product, and we are encouraging communities and food pantries and organizations and houses of faith all throughout Dutchess to come forward with activities they are supporting – the food services that they are providing,” he said.

Part of the effort includes the Dutchess Responds Fund through the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, which will help community partners provide critical support to residents experiencing hardships or quarantine restrictions as a result of the evolving health emergency.
